The Cardinal

Before we decided to invite guests to our cabins, we checked around quite a bit and rented several ourselves. We then used the experience gathered to furnish and equip them. The key amenities adding up to a comfortable and satisfying stay, we found out are a well equipped kitchen, even when not cooking every day, enough bathrooms and good sleeping comfort. In almost all cases, we experienced one or more of these ingredients were missing.
The kitchens of the log cabins at the Retreat are spacious and well equipped. Each cabin has 2 ½ bathrooms, and the mattresses we selected are exactly the same as those used by one of the world’s most premium cruise lines.

The Cardinal (6-8 persons)

3 bedrooms, 2 ½ bath, light and airy, fully equipped kitchen, excellent mattresses, ideal for a family, excellent floor plan, one sleeper sofa.

This very well designed log cabin is entered via a boardwalk from the driveway to the front porch. A great-room main interior features a dining corner to the right with seating for six. To the left is the living room with large sleeper sofa and a fully equipped kitchen, with seating at the kitchen counter for additional dining if needed. The powder room is to the rear of this floor. Sliding glass doors lead to a spacious deck with chairs and a table, a great spot for socializing and relaxation. Upstairs are three bedrooms. The master suite has a queen bed and private bath. The other bedrooms are each furnished with twin beds and share a second bath. The Cardinal’s secluded setting among lovely maples and oaks gives its guests a feeling of quiet peacefulness and privacy.
